What else do I need to know?

• We are dependent on a two-year return of service.
• Should a recipient  voluntarily leave our company during the two-year return of service agreement, they will be required to refund a portion of the incentive at a prorated rate (calculated on the basis of 1/24th of the total allowance for each month of the two-year return of service not yet served).

  • Shift Rotation/hours of work: Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 rotating

Build on your experience by:

  • Providing patient care; completing assessments of ICU/ER patients and communicates this appropriately. Adjusts plan of care in consultation with medical staff and implements plans.
  • Performing documentation duties on ICU/ER unit and patient record, which is timely, accurate and concise, and in accordance with current hospital policy.
  • Maintaining an awareness of emergency response protocol and procedures for critical care patient situations.
  • Managing patient care equipment appropriately (includes but is not exclusive to ventilator, cardiac monitor and defibrillator).

Your background includes:

  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Minimum two (2) years medical/surgical experience and/or Post Diploma Certificate in Critical Care and/or Emergency Nursing and/or equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants without formal Emergency/Critical Care Training and/or equivalent experience will be expected to enroll in an Emergency or Critical Care Course within 6 months of receiving the job.
  • CPR (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification or willingness to complete within 1 year.
