Analyst, Residential Operations- Multi Residential Canada

Mississauga, ON

The Analyst, Operations Residential is accountable to the Director of Asset Management and Vice President, Operations Hotels for overseeing effective operation of accounting standards practices and systems across the Multi Residential Group portfolio at site level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Budgeting/Reforecasting and Variance Analysis
    Assists with the preparation and implementation of the company's budget and reporting processes; and provides reports for (i.e. utility analysis) in the annual revenue and expense reforecasts in coordination with the sites. 
  2. Cost Reduction Analysis
    Provide monthly analytical reports to Management regarding newly implemented projects to ensure in line with projected return on investment. Assist in the preparation and analysis of procurement contracts. Prepare and assist in gathering information required for tender documents. Provide on-going analysis on expenses to highlight areas of potential savings to Management.
  3. Residential Portfolio Analysis
    Provide analysis on historical operational trends. Prepare charts and financial presentations when required. Create analytical reports on various expense line items and make recommendations on areas for improvement or savings. Assist in compiling information required for the annual Business Plan on the portfolio. Create additional analysis and reports as requested by management.
  4. Financial Modeling
    Applies financial modeling, on a regular and ad-hoc basis, to a variety of projects in order to assess the viability, profitability and ongoing operations of specific projects to assist in decision making as well as collecting commentaries, for Hotels and Residential portfolio plans in order to assist in the timely completion of the business plans on an annual basis.
  5. Quarterly & Board Reporting
    Assists Hotel Asset Management in ensuring data integrity in the quarterly reporting process and Board meetings in order to provide accurate and timely information for decision making.
  6. Special Projects
    Develop, implement and monitor portfolio’s contests/awards at property level; Perform and/or lead or assist with special projects as needed by upper level Management. Oversee and implement OHS is consistent with the company policies and procedures and conduct bi annual audits and report the findings to the management.

Any other job related duties and/or projects that may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Commerce, Finance, Urban Planning) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant real estate analysts experience
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of accounting software (especially Yardi Voyager).
