Commercial Territory Manager

Job Summary
The Commercial Territory Manager will be our strategic commercial expert in expanding our brand presence in the commercial space. This role will support our national sales team for commercial jobs, and will develop and maintain a sales territory consisting of a defined sales goal. The successful candidate will drive results and will be accountable for retaining existing accounts and growing business while maintaining strong and trusting partnerships with customers.

Job Essential Duties

  • Assess local market conditions, identify current and prospective sales opportunities as they pertain to all of our product lines and develop forecasts for your area of focus;
  • Make cold calls that result in meetings and convert prospects into actual sales
  • Qualify new business prospects and build an active, high potential prospect list for Marvin;
  • Establish and maintain long-term and profitable partnerships with business partners and key stakeholders
  • Continually builds product knowledge
  • Handle customer complaints and comments
  • Maintain a high level of service to existing and new Marvin customers: responding promptly to requests for quotation, delivery and after sales service as well as introducing new products to accounts where applicable;
  • Keep accurate records and reports (in our CRM) with respect to sales and prospects;
  • Conduct monthly reporting;
  • Cooperate fully with the Administration department by enforcing the credit and collection policy.
  • Work effectively with internal support departments (Finance and Administration, Business Development, Customer Service, Logistics)


Qualifications

  • College Diploma or University Degree (Business Preferred)
  • Knowledge of the commercial construction industry is required
  • Must have previous experience in project management, understands testing and working knowledge of national building code
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective selling and problem-solving skills
  • Willing and able to learn new computer systems, products, concepts and techniques as well as an eagerness to keep abreast of customer, industry and competitor development
  • Self-motivated, assertive, team player with a strong work ethic, able to work independently in a results-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Proven success in gaining the confidence of others combined with the influencing skills to present ideas and alternatives in a persuasive fashion.
  • Takes initiative, manages time effectively, and manages and adjusts priorities based on business demands
  • Previous experience using a Customer Relationship Management system such as Salesforce is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, follow-up and negotiation skills along with a strong numerical aptitude are required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and maintain customer goodwill and loyalty.
  • Consistently handles confidential information with the highest level of integrity and delivers the highest standards of service to customers
  • Must be able to keep organized to ensure projects are documented properly and all steps are followed in the sales process.
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks and handles all responsibilities with a strong sense of urgency
  • Must have a vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
  • Visits job sites as required

 

Work Conditions

  • Working in a home office or company office environment
  • Flexible hours, including night and weekends (as per customer needs)
  • Some overnight travel as required. Additionally, he/she may be called upon to make sales or service calls outside of the designated territory as needed
  • Interaction with employees, management, and the public at large
  • Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
