Senior Manager - People and Culture

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Community Living Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln is a non-profit charitable organization that provides opportunities and support for people living with an intellectual disability in the West Niagara area.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Senior Manager - the People and Culture is a member of the Leadership Team and will assist to plan, develop, supervise, implement, and monitor activities related to recruitment & retention, employee lifecycle, staff relations, benefit structure, WSIB, health & safety, and employee/employer relations.
This position is a 40-hour work week, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., however there may be some flexibility in the schedule required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

A University Degree in Business or a related field with specialization in Human Resources

Completion of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP or CHRL) designation

A minimum of five years related human resources management experience within the non-profit or social services field, with at least two years in a Senior Leadership role is preferred

Requires knowledge of theories, principles, methods, work practices, requirements for – Ministry of Labour, Skills, and Development - Occupational Health & Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, WSIB, other related legislation, to direct the Occupational Health and Safety Program

Oversees the People and Culture team to plan and organize recruitment and retention activities for all staff, volunteers, students

Develops, implements, and monitors human resources and health and safety related policies and procedures to ensure legislation compliance and employee standards are met

Experience guiding or participating as a lead in a change management project

Identifying opportunities for improvement, develop and implement strategic plans for assigned portfolio by identify changes and leading projects and initiatives

Experience in working in a range of internal and external committees related to human resources with a mind to enhance services, raise the profile of the agency, and build collaborative relationships in support of the agency’s mandate

Experience in conducting investigations, including dispute resolution

Experience with overseeing the recruitment, selection and staff development programs of all employees to meet legislated and agency compliance requirements

Knowledge/experience with Attendance Management programs, including disability management and developing/implementing RTW/accommodation plans for occupational and non-occupational absences

Experience in administration of benefits and compensation programs

Exceptional organizational, oral, and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, including high level of confidentiality

Proven ability to lead and develop employees and teams

Valid G driver’s license and must be insurable by the agency’s insurance company

Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Police Check

Level C First Aid/CPR

Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills

Excellent organizational, time management, oral and written communication skills

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsive and flexible to evolving responsibilities and able to take initiative while maintaining a positive approach.

Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook 365 applications including Teams.

Experience utilizing HRIS and scheduling systems and ability to learn and work with new online systems and technologies.
