CNC Programmer/Setter
We are looking for a CNC Programmer/Setter to join our team in Ancaster, ON.

Job Type:
Full-time. Must be available for shift work within a 24/7 operation as business needs change. Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour plus shift premiums.
Responsibilities
Design & Process Improvement
- Design programs and fixtures for improved machining, understanding speeds/feeds of tools and their effect on manufacturing cycle time
- Cost reduction studies and providing recommendations
- Work with supervisors, other shop personnel and external stakeholders to resolve machining and quality issues
- Actively search for process improvement opportunities, while keeping production standards and safety as top priorities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporating developing technologies to improve manufacturing processes
CNC Machine Set-up, Programming, & Operation
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Perform setups on new jobs
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare, operate, & supervise CNC machines to perform tasks with accuracy and quality (maintaining cycle times, minimizing scrap)
- Responsible for deburring, filing, grinding, and packaging parts after machining, as required
- Inspect and measure finished parts and compare them with blueprints to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
- Verify tools are properly calibrated before use
- Perform tool changes and offsets with an eye to minimizing scrap parts and maximizing tool use/life.
- Verify dimensions of parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Independently perform programming changes/adjustments to blueprint specifications
- Provide training and support as it relates to job functions to Junior & Intermediate team members.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years proven experience as CNC Programmer/Setter for lathes with live tooling, including machine setup and operation.
- Skill in operating CNC lathe machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Knowledgeable in machine code
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Heavy lifting as required following safety procedures
- Good communication abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate or diploma in engineering, machining, or relevant discipline is am asset
