We are looking for Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Objective:

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for the daily maintenance activity for their specific area as well as assisting with the rest of the plant maintenance team during special projects and winter maintenance. Primary focus is preventative maintenance and routine repairs to help drive maintenance cost control, reduce plant “down time”, and efficient day to day operation.  

Responsibilities:

• Safety Culture:
• Promote safety culture through engagement with fellow employees and subcontractors with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
• Production Management: 
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in planning and track maintenance costs and develop processes to achieve targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Employ daily communication and inspection process to manage production and shipping maintenance
• Scheduling, materials, prioritization
• Develop expertise in all plant systems:
• Control systems (batch systems)
• Air Systems (air compressors, cylinders, valves)
• Material Handling Systems (conveyors/scales/bins etc.)
• Heating Systems (boilers, water heaters, etc)
• Water Systems (water storage, plumbing, weighing etc.)
• Electrical Systems (control panels, etc)
• Manufacturing Efficiency
• Ensure plants are manufacturing accurately at peek efficiencies
• Moisture probe operations
• Batch Accuracy & speed
•  Truck Loading speed & consistency
• Truck Loading consistency

Relationships with Others Functions: 

• Reports to Maintenance Manager
• Manages preventative maintenance program for site
• Works closely with Plant Managers and Plant Superintendents.

Qualification Profile:

• Education/Work Experience:
• A minimum of two years experience working in a similar role
• Ready mix concrete experience is an asset

• Knowledge & Skills:
• Excellent communication, planning & organizational skills
• Proficiency with various maintenance applications is a definite asset
• Knowledge of the concrete industry preferred
• Good written and verbal communications
• Strong problem solving and decision making
• Good time management, self directed, uses time wisely, can attend to a broad range of activities
• Able to deal with emergency situations such as plant breakdown in a professional and timely fashion
• A technical understanding of concrete plants
